Finally the first post of the year! Actually, I could have been done with this ages ago (at least with the [livejournal.com profile] 10in30 set), but couldn't really decide what I wanted to do. So instead of doing something, I just looked for caps which I might or might not use for the set. As a result, I didn't have that much time for the [livejournal.com profile] technique20in20 set and there are a bunch of icons I'm not really happy with.

Gorgeous icons! I especially love the Man from UNCLE ones. Not snagging since I haven't seen either but lovely nonetheless!

LOVELY! I really like the real rain on Purple! Also the coloring on Rivers of Babylon, and Cat #5 is great!
I also love the crop and light on 10in30 #4, and the negative space set! :)

Both are such stunning sets! My favourites are Purple Rain, Should I stay or should I go?, Sandman (which fandom is this one from?), all of the ACs (again, which fandom?), and Close #3 and Far #6

Wow, both of these sets are incredible!

The two text icons in your technique20in20 set are both amazing: the composition in Should I stay or should I go is freaking stunning and the red text bars on top of all the bw really tie everything together and make it work so well. Love that icon! And then there's Text me in the morning where I really love how you've used the text to fill all that space on the left, awesome text arrangement, placement and love the different colors you used.
Take me for a ride is crazy awesome, the bw image alone is perfection, I love the way it's sharpened and the contrast is great, but the animated texture effect is all kinds of awesome and gives it this hypnotic, surreal look. I also love the animated rain effect in Purple Rain, yours is definitely the best possible interpretation of that theme (I briefly considered this very idea for mine, but decided it would be too much effort, lol. So lots of respect for you actually doing it and this well too!)
Sandman is also one of my favorites, super pretty minimalism there, with lovely coloring and contrast.
WOW at the intense coloring in cat5!! the stark contrast and the way the cyan pops = awesomeness :)
The ac set is gorgeous and very you, I always love these muted yet lighting-heavy icons from you since you do that style so well. ac4 catches my eye in particular, the crop and lighting create so much depth in it.

And your set for 10in30 is wonderful as well; I love the opposite styles you used, with muted closecrops and vibrant far crops. I'm really digging all the negative space in the far ones, they look great as a set and individually too (esp. 9 and 10), but the close crop set is definitely my favorite, I just love how you rock those muted tones! The contrast and coloring in each and every one of them is spot on, and I looove the cropping i them all, especially 1 and 4. And the lighting in 3 is to die for. I think I love its alt even more, the coloring is so good! And the other alts are great as well.

Awesome job with both challenges :>

wow all your far crops of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. icons are AMAZING but #8 in the 10in30 set is simply fantastic, love the vibrancy and the negative space!

I'm digging the grungy pop art look of Rivers of Babylon, as well as the negative space and muted coloring in Sandman (the slightly textured background really does look like a desert storm setting). Great lighting and far crops in AC3 and AC4. As for your [livejournal.com profile] 10in30 entry, I really like the lighting in 3 and the far crop of 8 and 9 (nice glowiness here as well).

These are all beautiful! Great colours and compositions.

From the technique20in20 set, I love the lighting in I Put A Spell On You, the colours and animation in Purple Rain (plus Simmons, yay!), the composition in Should I Stay Or Should I Go, the colours in both Rivers of Babylon and Disco (I also love the composition of the latter), everything about Sandman (just stunning!), and the composition of Take Me For A Ride (I love the flash of red in the animation). I also really love C1, 2 & 5 and all the ACs (love the soft, more earthy tones).

For the 10in30 set, I adore the Close set - fabulous cropping in all of them but I especially love 1, 3 & 4. And I love the muted tones and lighting in all of them. I also love the clean, negative space in the Far set, especially in 1 & 5!

I just absolutely love your close set, the icons are all so intense and the contrast and lighting only adds to that. So pretty. Great cropping also particularly in 1 and 5. Amazing. And your far icons really do capture the theme so well and I love the use of the background. Also the colouring in levels is beautiful. And your AC set is so pretty- the softness in the colouring just really works and the lighting is beautiful. alt3 is stunning, just stunning. Theme 2, theme 5 and theme 8 are all beautiful too.

Ah, I did the technique one first and 10in30 later, and still I wasn't happy with all my technique icons. ;)

My faves from the technique set are Sandman and Take me for a Ride. I am happy to see so many people actually did make animated icons for that, those are usually pretty rare. Your animated alt is great, too.

I like the coloring and the far crops in the ac set a lot, too.

From the 10in30 set, I really like the colors in the far set. I like the way you add shadows to the characters. It adds so much depth. The close crop #3 (and its alt) is beautiful, too.

Oh man, this post is full of two of my favourite things, and that doesn't even include the absolutely stunning icons that are here!

Your technique20in20 set is magical. Sky Full of Stars 1) makes me lol, because accidental (or intentional? who knows) name puns are always fun, but the colouring is all kinds of beautiful. I love the deep shadows and contrast that you've created, with the beautiful splash of purple with the texture work, it's magnificent. Rivers of Babylon is absolutely amazing as well - the pop art style you've created is spectacular, and I love the use of space and the colour combination. The whole Category set blows me away with the gorgeous rich colouring you've used, that deep vibrancy brings out such stunning colours in the icons, and then I love the beautiful pastel softness of the AC set, and the spectacular use of lighting.

The contrast in colours for your 10in30 set is absolutely beautiful as well. I love the muted softness of the close crop set, the use of lighting in #1 and #2 in particular is wowing me, as is the gorgeous use of shadow, and that matte contrast in #5. The beautiful use of negative space and solid backgrounds creates such a strong comparison in the far set. The blue in #6 is wonderfully soft, and I also love the combination of colours in #8. The last alt is magic as well, the lighting is so well done, and the beautiful vibrancy is amazing.

Both sets are truly gorgeous! I love the blocking technique in Levels, and the background work is a perfect for the composition.
Lighting in I put a spell on you leaves me speechless. I adore the balancing with shadows, and the vibrant-ish colours are amazing.
Should I stay or should I go? is MESMERISING. I adore the blending, and your way o working with colours. The red text is a brilliant idea.
The paint effects in Rivers of Babylon give the icon a very unique look, and I love the contrast bewteen strong & muted colours.
I also adore the overall look of Text me in the morning and the crop & negative space in Sandman. Excellent job with the animation in
Take me for a ride (and the third alternative!). Also, the AC set is utterly beautiful. I love the earth tones very much and the lights are well placed.
Plus, the crops are awesome. I'm saving a few! :D
As for the 10in30 set, I a d o r e the sharpening. #1 has a wonderful crop and I love how the shadowing creates an emotional atmosphere.
The dramatic looks of #3 and #5 are stunning; in particular I love the b&w colouring. The far crops are splendid, I love that you added the characters' shadows,
the negative space is even more interesting; #7, #9 and #10 are my favourite creations; and the second alternate! <3

Your work is great! The way you use light and shadow makes your icons very expressive. I find the "CLOSE" section very intense, especially the crop in #1 and # 11! The negative space icons from the "FAR" section are done very skillfully as well. Motive and background really complement each other :)
