Best of '21: Result

Best of is starting again soon and I never made an entry for last year's result. I had the icons neatly tucked away in a folder, but never made an entry for it. Then when all that LJ/DW stuff happened, I also kinda forgot about it. Well, this is the perfect opportunity to also promote this year's activities, I guess ;)

The winner:


This icon was made for movieslims as an alt for the comeback challenge. I did not end up entering it because I wasn't sure if everything worked. I entered another icon and lost lol
This icon had 13 votes.
The next icon had 6 votes. It is one I was very happy with!



Then we have three icons with 5 votes. Two of these can also be found in my picks below.

And finally, since they are so close together, seven icons with 4 votes each.


I can't really pick between two icons for my favorite from 2021.


I'm not sure the first icon was even nominated. It's one of the rare icons with text that I really like.

Usually I go with ~20 icons for my best of roundup, but I narrowed it down to twelve more this time.



And that's it. I don't have much to say one year later. I'll try to be faster next time!

Excited the community is on dw as well this year, though doubt I'll enter. Haven't made much, and little impersonally proud of. Very excited to do me some nominating and voting though!

Seeing my favorites from other people win/get nominated is a big part of the enjoyment for me!

I like the one that got first place - animations are always *so hard*, and I like the coloring in this one. (You have so many animated icons, it's amazing.)

I like the Nightmares icon a lot, too! Great composition and coloring, totally deserving of first place.

The most annoying part about animated icons is saving them due to size restrictions. Although finding the right animation to add can also be tricky.
