#211: Icons

During the Summer months I barely made any icons, but I also neglected to update this community with the (by now) old icons have still laying around *sighs*
So here is my entry for somein30. I picked Extra Hard Mode. I'm in a bit of a Star Wars mood after playing the Lego Skywalker Saga which makes this mode much easier. They are in chronological order since that's also how I played the game. I tried to tie them all together by adding some grunge to every icon. The icons from the new movies still look very different with their more vibrant coloring. I'd love to do another set which fits a bit more with the theme and use a TV show, but I'm not sure if that will happen. I also feel a tad bit rusty, so these are pretty simple overall, but it still took me a while to make them.

Episode I – The Phantom Menace: Most Known For - I feel like this movie is mostly known for rather negative things among fans apart from the character and character design of Maul.
Episode II – Attack of the Clones: MVP Character - Obi-Wan was probably the star of that movie for me, but I love that Padme finally got to do some action scenes.
Episode III – Revenge of the Sith: Favorite Scene - I'm sorry, but the entire "Anakin turning to the Dark Side" sequence is just epic.
Episode IV – A New Hope: Most Known For - Fans probably know this movie by heart. However, I think Leia's iconic buns and white dress are something that everyone knows :D
Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back: Underrated - Not a good prompt for the most popular movie of the entire series. So I decided to go with Hoth. I like the ice planet and Vader looks pretty cool in front of the white background with the scary snow troopers behind him.
Episode VI – Return of the Jedi: Favorite Quote - This one was actually pretty easy. I'm also happy with how it turned out which is rare for icons with text for me.
Episode VII – The Force Awakens: MVP Character - Finn's arc in this movie is the most interesting for me. He went from Stormtrooper to hero :)
Episode VIII – The Last Jedi: Favorite Interaction - Might be a weird choice, but I was so happy when Poe and Rey finally meet.
Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker: Plot - Everything connecting through the force to defeat the Dark Side seems like one of the central aspects in this movie. Something Rey also tries to do at the beginning of the movie while meditating. She only really succeeded during the final fight at the end of the movie.

What a gorgeous set! Can't name a real favorite, since all of them, including the alts, are just GREAT! And like you, I was so happy to see Poe and Rey meeting XD Great job!

This is a gorgeous set! I really like #2, and the blending in the Maul and Anakin icons is PERFECT, but I think my favorite is #8 -- such superb coloring and composition!

Amazing set . I love the clean bgs and subtle texture works in 7, 9 and alt 1 in particular and as a grunge lover , I love the sprinkling of grunge in the icons.

Wow, I think this challenge must be way harder with movies, cause the material to choose scenes and caps from is so much wider :O But these don't look rusty at all, in fact I think this set is amazing, love the grunginess and the compositions!

The explanations were fun to read too. I love tat you were able to find a positive thing Episode I is known for, what an amazing icon too, the coloring and soft grunge + the blending all look spectacular ♥
I totally agree re: Episode III, and the muted, dark colors + grunginess with perfect cap choices are just amazing.
Wow yeah hard to find anything underrated about Episode V, but this icon is gorgeous, looooove the textured look!
The text in 6 is indeed great, awesome font combination and placement!
The colorings in the entire last row are fantastic, and I love the lighting in 8 especially. The composition in 9 is especially gorgeous, great use of subtle background textures!

I found it much easier because I have more scenes to work with! I probably would have struggled a lot with the quote for a episode of a TV show.

Wow, this whole set is fantastic!♥ I love the balance here and muted coloring. I love the crop on the first one and also blending. It's so powerful. I actually liked this movie :D 2 has so amazing grunge style and grey coloring. 3 has so dark feeling and cropping. I also love the light on 4 and beautiful blue color. 7 has stunning yellow coloring and I adore texture on the 9. Lovely crop and the lighting ♥

I loved extra hard mode for this, too, and it's fun to read your comments on that. You got MVP character and Most Known For a lot (which I didn't get even once), and it's great to see what you chose.

I love the Darth Maul icon, Vader is also great, and all three in the last row are beautiful. I love the bright colors and soft grunge!

What a beautiful set! I also like reading about people's processes and choices so I found your explanations interesting to read as well. (I also loved Padme's role in Attack, for example).

I think my favorites may be Maul and Anakin because they are so striking. But I am nabbing #7 🙂
